Marcia offers a wide variety of single presentations and lecture series. These talks generally run 2 hours; however, the length can be tailored to fit your group’s schedule and needs. These sessions are designed to be informative, fun, and motivational.  Participants receive a take-home kit of support materials to help them get started right away in creating new, healthier eating habits.  In addition to the subjects listed below, Marcia will be happy to design a talk on a health topic of interest to your group.

Marcia is a member of The National Speakers Association and is an award-winning speaker with Toastmasters International. She holds that organization’s highest award: Distinguished Toastmaster. A General Approach to Yin Cancers (Breast and Skin)

The ancient Chinese classified all phenomena into one of two types: yin or yang. According to macrobiotics, cancers (and all other diseases) can likewise be classified as yin or yang. Using this ancient understanding of the world, we will begin to look at the universe and our own bodies in a new way. We will learn which foods, parts of our bodies; even our activities and aspects of our personalities are “yin” and “yang.” We will then use this newfound understanding to discover how to treat yin style cancers such as cancers of the breast, skin and other yin organs.

This seminar will include much of the same introductory material as contained in the preceding seminar, “A General Approach to Yin Cancers.” After an exploration of the principles of yin and yang, we will use this newfound understanding to discover how to treat yang style cancers such as cancers of the prostate, colon, rectum, ovaries, uterus, and pancreas. We will include a discussion of foods that trigger yang cancers, foods helpful for healing yang cancers, and how to deal with a yang cancer that has metastasized to a yin site.

This workshop draws on my background in business and nutrition to bring you the secrets of how to set and achieve your health goals. It borrows principles from business management, from the teachings of Dr. Stephen Covey (author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People), motivational speaker Tony Robbins, the Franklin time management system, and my personal experience with clients. Participants will leave this workshop with a complete set of written health goals and an action plan with timelines for achieving those goals.

Meal Planning Workshop

Do you search your cupboards and find nothing appealing for dinner? Have you run out of ideas for tasty meals? Do you spend too much money on take-out? Do you spend too much time wondering what to make for dinner? Do you start to prepare a meal, then find you’re lacking essential ingredients?  All of these problems can be solved by the simple practice of creating a weekly meal plan. When you have a meal plan, it’s like putting your skis in a track and coasting down a slope. Shopping for and preparing healthy meals becomes almost automatic.  In this workshop we will learn different techniques for meal planning, then work together to create a week’s worth of healthy, delicious, practical menus, so participants will have hands-on experience in creating a meal plan, and be able to take home a meal plan to begin using right away.

The Body Electric:
The Care and Cultivation of Your Energetic Body

Your body runs on electricity. Just plug yourself into an electrocardiogram, electroencephalograph, or polygraph machine, and you’ll be able to measure your personal power supply. But how can we charge ourselves up, keep our energy running smoothly, and maximize our “life force?” Join us as we examine the mysteries of our energetic bodies and discover natural techniques for brightening our auras and achieving “good vibrations.”

The Tao of Food

You know that food has vitamins, minerals, fat, carbohydrates and protein. But did you know that food also contains energy, or chi? That a carrot has chakras and meridians? And that the nature of the energy in your food can affect your own energy by strengthening it, weakening it, agitating it, or calming it?

In this unique class, we will discover how food converts to waves of energy that travel to different organs or locations in our bodies, and that where the energy ends up depends on the type of food we ate to begin with. We will evaluate our own personal energy and determine adjustments to benefit each person’s unique body and lifestyle. We will learn which foods contain which types of energy, (such as strengthening, tightening, relaxing, or weakening), how to determine which part of our body a particular food is likely to affect, how to predict the energy of an unfamiliar food, how cooking affects the chi of our food, and how to harness the different types of energy from our food to strengthen and heal the different organs and systems of the body. This class will allow you to tailor your diet to infuse your own body with the quality of energy you want. And ultimately, it will empower you to use these different forms of energy to set an overall direction in life and place yourself on track to get there.

What Your Voice Reveals About Your Inner Self

Did you know before you’ve finished uttering a thought, a skilled listener can peer into your body and psyche and see what’s inside?  Your voice reveals not only your current mood, but also much about your personality:  Are you extroverted or introverted? Dominant or passive?  Are you often angry and impatient, or are you more laid back?  Do you have hidden insecurities? Your voice even reveals the state of your health–such as whether you prone to frequent infections, are your heart and lungs strong, do you have a tendency to depression, or do you suffer from chronic disease? A trained listener can determine all this and more from the moment you begin to speak.

This workshop will help you develop your ability to “read” the voices of those around you.  Each participant will also receive an analysis of how they sound to others.  You will then get a toolbox of tips to allow you to strengthen your voice so that every word you speak conveys strength, power, and confidence.

Yin and Yang:
How the Creative Energies of the Universe Affect Your Body and Your Health

Life and death. Male and female. Love and hate. Health and illness. These are examples of the two great creative forces the ancient Chinese called “yin” and “yang.” These two forces combine to produce all the phenomena that make up our universe. When we understand how these energies work, we can harness their creative powers to improve our health, guide our lives, even make predictions about the future! We will learn:

  • Why our body isn’t as solid as we think.
  • How the basic building blocks of life aren’t amino acids or atoms, but energy.
  • How to analyze the energy in our bodies, and adjust it when necessary.
  • How to use different foods to make modifications in our own energy.
  • How the way we cook our food can alter its energetic nature, and thus our own health.
